Just got back from my very special day with a snarling F Type. Yesterday I asked a few people if they had questions about the car and now I'm here to answer more of them. And oh yes, video will be out next week with plenty of exhaust shots.

How is the noise while cruising? It's totally tolerable. Even with the shouty mode engaged, the exhaust isn't really loud until you step on it. As it should be.

Are the seats comfy? Actually no. I'm 5'10" and pretty slim so I rarely fit well into modern seats but these ones were especially uncomfortable. They were very hard and the back bolster was obtrusive even in its smallest setting.

Can ESP/TCS be easily deactivated, even on the fly? I hate cars where you have to stop to deactivate them.

You know I genuinely overlooked that. I fiddled with it at a stop but I never drove with it off because a) the dynamic mode doesn't cut into the fun and b) it's a press car on a narrow road

Actually, surprisingly easy. I was amazed how good accessibility was for such a low and low-roofed car.

Barely. You'd have to adopt some interesting seating position to be honest. I'm only 5'10" and I found the car rather snug. However, our 6' reviewer was able to fit and drive without complaint

Was the nav unit any good on this? My friend's 2010 Jaguar XF had an awful interface for entering destinations into the nav unit.

I drove a V6S that stickered for 83k. Why would you get this over a Cayman, CTS-V, or an M4?

I'm just not a fan of the M4. For the money, the Cayman is a betters ports car and the more sensible purchase. You buy the F Type if you want people to stare at you and if you enjoy the theatre and drama of driving more than anything else.

i agree with the cayman assessment. I just found the FType to be ludicrous. It doesn't have any functional storage space. Its impressive how inadequate the trunk is esp in 2014. This is a car meant to be bought as a 3rd or 4th vehicle in the house while the M4 and cayman can be daily drivers. Its a bauble and little more.
